EU funding allows IOLITEC to explore new, groundbreaking technologies based on ionic liquids and prepare them for commercialization.

2. What does IOLITEC see as the main value of being involved in EU-funded R&I projects?

The main value for IOLITEC from R&I projects lies in the collaboration with excellent researchers from all over Europe that allows us to push the boundaries of known applications for our technology.

3. What was IOLITEC motivation to participate in EIC-Pathfinder calls?

The main motivation behind our participation is to identify, based on our core technology ionic liquids, new utilization in high risk-high gain applications.

4. How important is international collaboration to IOLITEC innovation process?

It is very important; indeed, innovation nowadays is a widely international and interdisciplinary challenge and cannot be tackled by a single company or scientific discipline alone.

5. What kind of partners or ecosystems are IOLITEC looking to connect with through these programs?

We are open to all kinds of collaborations, from universities and research institutes to small and medium companies like us and large industries.

6. How would IOLITEC describe its overall experience participating in EU-funded programs so far?

The over 12 EU projects, we have been involved in so far, are always a pleasure. We have learned a lot and brought some interesting applications, such as CO2 sorption with ILs, close to commercialization.

7. What has been the most rewarding aspect for IOLITEC when participating in EU-funded projects?

The most rewarding aspect is to see how an idea evolves from the sketch board over to a pilot and then to a commercialized product/ application.
